In celebration of World Space Week 2025, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) hosted an engaging Water Rocket Training Workshop for teachers in Islamabad, blending fun with fundamental space science.

Held as part of a nationwide initiative, the interactive workshop drew around 50 enthusiastic teachers from both public and private schools. The event began with an introduction to the basics of rocket science—covering thrust, pressure, trajectory, and stability—before moving into hands-on activities.

Participants designed and built their own water rockets using PET bottles and accessible materials. The highlight of the day was the launch session, where teachers witnessed their creations take flight—bringing textbook physics to life in a thrilling display of applied science.

This Islamabad workshop is one in a series taking place across major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Gilgit. It underscores Pakistan’s commitment to space education and the global celebration of World Space Week (October 4–10), which is observed in over 90 countries.

The 2025 theme, “Sustaining Space for Sustainability on Earth,” emphasizes the role of space innovation in addressing global challenges.
