SUPARCO organizes workshop to promote curiosity in rocket science
In celebration of World Space Week 2025, the Space and Upper
Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) hosted an engaging Water Rocket
Training Workshop for teachers in Islamabad, blending fun with fundamental
space science.
Held as part of a nationwide initiative, the interactive
workshop drew around 50 enthusiastic teachers from both public and private
schools. The event began with an introduction to the basics of rocket
science—covering thrust, pressure, trajectory, and stability—before moving into
hands-on activities.

Participants designed and built their own water rockets using
PET bottles and accessible materials. The highlight of the day was the launch
session, where teachers witnessed their creations take flight—bringing textbook
physics to life in a thrilling display of applied science.
This Islamabad workshop is one in a series taking place
across major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Gilgit. It
underscores Pakistan’s commitment to space education and the global celebration
of World Space Week (October 4–10), which is observed in over 90 countries.
