SUPARCO briefs media on Pakistan’s satellite capabilities
A special media briefing was held at the Satellite Ground Station and Satellite Control Facility of the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
The session provided an in-depth look at how Pakistan’s space assets are managed from the ground and highlighted the benefits of remote sensing and communication satellites for the country’s socioeconomic development.

The briefing covered the critical roles of satellites in disaster monitoring, crop surveillance, weather forecasting, and telecommunications. Director SUPARCO Ayyaz Ameen updated the media on the current solar storm.
Additionally, the media visited the IST Astronomical Observatory at the Institute of Space Technology in Islamabad, which is supported by SUPARCO.
This observatory marks a significant advancement in Pakistan’s astronomical research capabilities and is equipped with the largest public-sector astronomical and solar telescopes.
