PIA to hire 24 fresh pilots to help alleviate crew shortage
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has
announced the launch of a new Cadet Pilot Program aimed at hiring 24 fresh
pilots to help alleviate cockpit crew shortages and strengthen its flight
operations.

Overview and Eligibility Criteria
The initiative offers aspiring pilots a chance
to begin their flying careers with PIA on a two-year contractual basis. To
qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:

Minimum of 200 flying hours
·
Valid Commercial Pilot
License (CPL) issued by Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
Selected candidates will be required to submit a
$15,000 financial bond as a commitment to complete the program and adhere to
the airline’s operational standards.

In addition to cadets, PIA is also recruiting
20 experienced commercial pilots to meet its immediate operational needs.
Interested applicants must apply through the HR department within 15 days of
the announcement.
The airline’s previous recruitment drive for
First Officers drew close to 300 applications, reflecting strong interest in
joining the national carrier.
Part of
a Broader Expansion Plan
The cadet pilot program is part of PIA’s
strategic efforts to enhance service quality and resume direct flights to key
European destinations, including London, Manchester, and Paris, using its
Boeing 777 fleet. The move supports the airline’s long-term goal of restoring and
expanding international connectivity.

Meanwhile,
Emirates Airlines has also announced a global recruitment campaign for its 2025
cabin crew intake. The Dubai-based carrier is inviting eligible candidates to
apply online as it gears up for an international expansion and workforce
strengthening initiative.
