Pakistan Airports Authority taking steps to facilitate airport employees
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has
inaugurated a daycare facility at Jinnah
International Airport to support female employees working at the
airport.
According to airport officials, the childcare
centre was inaugurated by the Director General of the Pakistan Airports
Authority following the establishment of a similar facility at the
organization’s headquarters.
The newly launched daycare centre will provide
childcare services for the children of working mothers employed across various
departments at the airport.
In its initial phase, the facility will cater to
children between the ages of three months and three years. The centre will
operate daily from 9am to 5pm.
Officials said the authority is also considering
plans to expand the daycare facility into a 24-hour service in the future to
better accommodate employees working rotational and night shifts.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by
the Pakistan Airports Authority to improve workplace support and employee
welfare within the aviation sector.
Separately, the authority recently announced
plans to introduce electric passenger cart services at major airports across
the country to improve mobility and passenger convenience.
Under the first phase of the project, electric
cart services will be launched at airports in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and
Multan.
The authority has already invited tenders for
the electric mobility cart service, which will allow passengers to travel
between parking areas and airport concourse halls, with return services also available
from terminal buildings to parking zones.
According to Rabia
Salmi, Director Commercial at the Pakistan Airports Authority,
passengers will be able to book the electric carts through a mobile
application.
Officials
said the initiative is expected to improve the travel experience, particularly
for elderly passengers, families, and individuals requiring mobility
assistance.
