Pakistan’s aviation sector received a fresh boost as newly established carrier South Air welcomed its first ATR 72-500 aircraft to the country, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s preparations for commercial operations.

According to reports, the arrival of the aircraft signals the beginning of South Air’s operational phase as the airline aims to strengthen regional connectivity and support domestic tourism across Pakistan.

The airline is expected to commence commercial flight operations in June 2026, entering Pakistan’s growing regional aviation market at a time when demand for improved domestic air travel and connectivity continues to rise.
