becoming the first female flying spanner engineer at Pakistan International
Airlines (PIA), marking a significant milestone for the national carrier.
Her inaugural flight, from Islamabad
to Sukkur, symbolized a breakthrough in PIA’s engineering operations, as she
ensured the aircraft’s smooth performance throughout the journey.

A PIA spokesperson praised Mehwish’s

Mehwish began her engineering career
in 2013 and, after a decade of dedication, achieved her authorization as a
flying spanner engineer in 2023. Her achievement is seen as a major step
forward for gender diversity in Pakistan’s aviation sector.
