PIA and Air France–KLM join hands to ship cargo across Europe and US
Pakistan
International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a strategic cargo partnership
with Air France–KLM, expanding
its global freight footprint as the national carrier undergoes significant
institutional reforms.
The agreement, which took effect on January 15,
grants PIA Cargo access to Air France–KLM’s extensive global network. Under the
arrangement, exporters can ship cargo across Europe and the United States using
a single air waybill covering both airlines.

PIA will link into the network through regional
hubs in Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam. The partnership opens up key destinations
including Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf,
along with major US cities such as New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
French Ambassador Nicolas Galey welcomed the
development, noting that the recent resumption of direct flights between
Islamabad and Paris signals strengthening bilateral relations.
He added that the new route and cargo
agreement offer streamlined access to 21 European destinations, supporting
greater economic and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Europe.
