Bangladesh Airlines has received approval from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
to expand its direct operations to Pakistan by adding a third weekly flight on
the Dhaka–Karachi route.
The Bangladeshi flag carrier currently operates
two weekly flights between Dhaka and Karachi using Boeing 737 aircraft,
according to flight-tracking data.
Officials said the additional frequency will be
introduced after the airline evaluates passenger volumes, market demand and other
commercial factors.

Bangladesh resumes direct Dhaka–Karachi flights after 14 years
The approval follows the recent resumption of
direct air travel between Pakistan and Bangladesh after a suspension lasting
more than a decade. On January 29, Biman operated its first direct flight from
Dhaka to Karachi in 14 years, restoring the long-discontinued route.
The inaugural flight, BG341, departed Hazrat
Shahjalal International Airport at 8:15pm local time and landed at Karachi’s
Jinnah International Airport at 11:03pm, where it was welcomed with a
traditional water cannon salute.
Officials in Karachi termed the resumption of
direct flights a significant step toward improving connectivity and
strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
