Pakistani airlines charging higher fares at Lahore–Karachi route due to less competition
Airfares on the popular Lahore–Karachi route have surged
significantly, as major carriers including Pakistan International Airlines
(PIA), Airblue, and Fly Jinnah raised their one-way ticket prices. The fare
hike follows the suspension of operations by Serene Air and reduced availability
from Air Sial.
The increased demand and fewer available flights have driven
prices sharply upward.
Currently:
- PIA is charging up to Rs60,760 for an urgent one-way ticket.
- Fly Jinnah has raised its fare to Rs52,000.
- Airblue is offering tickets starting from Rs36,000 for the same route.
Despite the steep prices, PIA flights are fully booked from
October 8 to October 18, indicating a strong demand and limited seat
availability.
