Indonesian flying school offers to provide pilots for Pakistani airlines

The CEO of Mitra Aviation Perkasa and Perkasa Flying School of Indonesia, Septo Sudiro, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to explore enhanced civil aviation cooperation between Indonesia and Pakistan, focusing on pilot training and supply, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.

Septo Sudiro highlighted the presence of approximately 25 Indonesian pilots currently employed across various Pakistani airlines. He emphasized his company's capability to meet Pakistan's aviation workforce demands, including pilots and aircraft engineers, with highly skilled professionals from Indonesia.

Established in July 2013, Perkasa Flying School operates prominent training facilities at Tunggul Wulung Airport in Cilacap, Central Java, and Nusawiru Airport in Pangandaran, West Java. The school, one of Indonesia's largest international pilot training institutions, holds a PSC – 141 – 017 pilot certification and specializes in preparing students for commercial pilot roles through comprehensive ground and flight training.

Septo Sudiro noted that Indonesia's Perkasa Flying School offers competitive pilot training fees, addressing potential pilot shortages in Pakistan amid a surge in flight activity and increased global airline competition.

Furthermore, highlighting Indonesia's status as the world's largest Muslim country, he underscored the suitability of Indonesian educational environments for Pakistani students.

"Perkasa Flying School proposes a collaboration program with Pakistani airlines to train cadet pilots in Indonesia, utilizing innovative financial schemes up to a 50:50 ratio, aimed at fostering a larger pool of skilled pilots in Pakistan," he stated.

Septo Sudiro also highlighted Indonesia's ongoing efforts to enhance its civil aviation sector, achieving an effective implementation score of 8,034 in the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program-Continuous Monitoring Approach (USOAP-CMA), as part of its commitment to meeting international safety standards.

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties in aviation training and operational excellence between Indonesia and Pakistan.
