Pakistan’s Army Chief emphasizes role of National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in innovation
In a ceremony held in Karachi, General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of
Army Staff (COAS), presided over the inauguration of the National Aerospace
Science and Technology Park's (NASTP) second chapter, known as NASTP Silicon.
As the chief guest, General Munir expressed optimism regarding the
project's potential to drive technological advancements and foster
self-reliance within the nation, according to a statement by the Inter-Services
Public Relations (ISPR).

COAS Munir praised NASTP as a project of national and strategic
significance, foreseeing manifold benefits for the country. He emphasized its
vital role in promoting innovation and providing a platform for the nation's
youth to contribute to aerospace, cyber, and information technology fields.
Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of the Pakistan Air Force
(PAF), its leadership, and skilled personnel, Gen Munir celebrated the
achievement of NASTP Silicon, recognizing the PAF's pivotal role in realizing
the project and commending their commitment to technological advancements.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff,
shared his vision for NASTP to evolve into one of the premier Aerospace, Cyber,
and IT Clusters. He said the park is transforming the national landscape with
state-of-the-art design, research and development (R&D), and innovation
centers, focusing on emerging and disruptive technologies.
Upon arrival at the venue, the army chief was warmly received by
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu, showcasing cooperation and synergy between the army
and air force leadership.
COAS Munir expressed satisfaction with the measures taken,
reiterating the importance of a strong, well-equipped, and well-supported
military in safeguarding the nation's interests.
