US Charge d Affaires backs restoration of flights between Pakistan and the United States
The United States has expressed support for the restoration of direct flights between Pakistan and the US, saying the move would strengthen bilateral ties and promote tourism, educational exchanges and sports diplomacy.
Speaking in a podcast with a local media outlet, US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker said she hopes direct air links between the two countries will resume in the future, facilitating greater travel for students, researchers, professionals and tourists.

Pakistan has recently stepped up efforts to restore direct flights to the United States. In May, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi discussed the issue with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapoor during a meeting in Islamabad.
Direct flights between Pakistan and the United States have remained suspended since 2020, when Pakistan International Airlines was barred from operating services following international safety concerns. The airline has since resumed flights to the United Kingdom and Europe after those restrictions were lifted.
