Karachi Airport organizes walk to raise awareness on air safety  

Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport organized a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) awareness walk on Wednesday to reinforce air-side safety and compliance with global aviation standards.

Led by the Airport Manager alongside senior officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), the walk spanned from Domestic to International Arrivals, bringing together representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), airlines, and ground handling service providers.

Participants inspected critical movement areas, removing debris and highlighting the collective responsibility needed to maintain hazard-free runways, taxiways, and apron zones. FOD is a significant global aviation risk, capable of causing serious damage to aircraft engines and systems.

The Airport Manager praised the collaborative effort, emphasizing that regular awareness initiatives cultivate a safety-first culture and ensure continuous adherence to international best practices.
