PIA says PCAA regulates all air traffic issues in Pakistan
Pakistan International
Airlines (PIA) has reaffirmed that the Pakistan
Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) is the sole body responsible for ensuring
air safety in the country. The authority regulates all airlines, including PIA,
in accordance with rigorous international standards and procedures.
According to a PIA statement, all issues related to aircraft
maintenance, part replacement, airworthiness, and flight operations — including
routes and scheduling — fall directly under the Civil Aviation Authority’s
jurisdiction and are carried out only after its approval. These practices, the
airline added, strictly adhere to global aviation regulations and have been
validated through numerous audits.

PIA also clarified that no flights were cancelled in the
past two days due to an engineering staff strike. The few cancellations that
did occur were attributed to schedule adjustments, adverse weather, or other
operational reasons.
The airline’s management stated it continues to handle the
situation with patience and restraint, emphasizing that no disciplinary or
retaliatory actions have been taken against any engineers.

“As the national carrier, our assets, routes, and revenues

reputation of both the nation and the institution is a collective
responsibility — one that our management and skilled staff continue to uphold
with dedication and care.”
