European body renews cargo license of PIA after audit
Pakistan
International Airlines (PIA) has successfully passed the European Union’s
cargo audit, a significant achievement for the national carrier and a positive
development for Pakistan’s aviation sector.
The audit was conducted by OGADA,
the EU’s designated organization responsible for inspecting and validating air
cargo operations. The validation team carried out detailed inspections at
Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports.

Following the successful completion of the audit, PIA’s EU cargo license was formally renewed. The updated license was officially issued by the European Union, with notification sent to PIA CEO Amir Hayat and the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
With this renewal, PIA is now
authorized to continue transporting cargo on its passenger flights to the
United Kingdom and Europe. The CAA’s Director of Aviation Security led
coordination efforts, ensuring comprehensive support for the EU audit team
throughout the process.
