Islamabad Airport records significant boost in cargo operations, collects Rs72.3mn

Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) recorded a significant boost in cargo throughput charges (CTC), collecting Rs72.3 million in March 2025—the highest monthly figure since November 2021, when Rs49 million was collected, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The increase is largely credited to the launch of dedicated import cargo operations by SF Cargo. The company began using B757-200 aircraft on the Urumqi–Islamabad–Urumqi (URC-ISB-URC) route under flight numbers 03-233/234.

SF Cargo commenced operations at IIAP last month, starting with approximately 22,775 kilograms of cargo per flight. The airline currently operates twice a week, with flights arriving on Tuesdays and Fridays around 11:30 a.m.

According to the PAA, SF Cargo plans to expand its service to four weekly flights in the near future, potentially boosting cargo throughput figures even further.
