Quetta Airport conducts exercise to test readiness for emergency response
Quetta International Airport hosted a Full-Scale
Emergency Exercise, conducted in line with national aviation safety and
preparedness protocols. The event aimed to test the readiness of airport
personnel and emergency response agencies in handling critical incidents.
Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan
Mandokhail attended as the chief guest, alongside senior officials including
the Base Commander of the Pakistan Air Force, CSO ASF, provincial cabinet
ministers and advisers, Balochistan DG Health, SP Airport, the President of the
Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Commandant ANF, and representatives from airlines,
the Pakistan Airport Authority, and other stakeholders.

The exercise began with a briefing by Airport Manager Waheed Malik. Governor Mandokhail highlighted the importance of preparedness and coordinated response in ensuring passenger safety. Attendees were then escorted airside to observe live demonstrations.

a Learjet 45 (LJ45) provided by the Balochistan government

A mock aircraft fire and
passenger evacuation using a bus
·
Collaborative responses by
agencies including Pakistan Air Force, ASF, PDMA, Rescue 1122, Edhi Foundation,
Pakistan Red Crescent, government hospitals, and Pakistan Army Aviation
A major highlight was the deployment of a
Pakistan Army Aviation MI-17 helicopter to simulate the airlifting of
critically injured passengers.
