SUPARCO announces National CANSat competition for students

In celebration of World Space Week 2025, the Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), in collaboration with the University of Central Punjab (UCP), has launched “Space Camp 2025” — a series of workshops under the theme “Design, Build, and Launch Your First Satellite.”

Organized under SUPARCO’s RESOLVE initiative and UCP’s Space Research Center, the program is being supported by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Kalam4Solutions, the Pakistan Innovation Fund, and other academic partners.

The workshops will take place across major universities in Lahore, including:

  • University of Central Punjab (UCP)
  • University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore
  • Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)
  • Lahore College for Women University (LCWU)
  • Information Technology University (ITU)

Open to students from all educational institutions, the program provides hands-on experience using CANSAT and EYASSAT educational kits. Participants will be trained in every phase of the satellite mission lifecycle — from initial concept and subsystem design to integration, launch simulation, and data analysis.

Top-performing teams from the workshops will qualify for the National CANSat Competition in October 2025, a flagship event in Pakistan’s World Space Week lineup.

The organizers stated that the initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of Pakistani space scientists and engineers by fostering technical skills, innovation, and real-world aerospace experience.
