Iran and Pakistan expand weekly flight operation to 24 from 15

Iran and Pakistan have agreed to expand their flight capacity from 15 to 24 weekly services each, the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran announced.

The agreement follows President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Pakistan, accompanied by the transport minister and the head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization. As part of the deal, Iran Air has also launched a new Mashhad–Karachi route.

The accord covers lifting restrictions on flight routes, enhanced cooperation in air navigation, and the expansion of specialized aviation training. The signing concludes months of discussions between the civil aviation authorities of both countries.

Separately, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said it has begun talks with Armenia on a similar air transport cooperation agreement, which will be finalized once both sides complete the required procedures and approvals.
