Teleport and PIA join hands to deliver shipments
Teleport and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have
successfully delivered their first joint shipment to Jeddah, marking a
significant milestone in their recently established partnership. This collaboration,
formalized on May 20, 2024, aims to enhance logistics connections between
Southeast Asia (SEA) and the Middle East.
The Malaysia-based logistics provider, Teleport, will leverage
PIA's network and capacity to improve operational efficiency and connectivity
within and beyond Southeast Asia. A social media post from Teleport announced,
"We're connecting e-commerce shipments from China to the Middle East via

Although details about the partnership remain limited, Teleport's
CEO, Pete Chareonwongsak, commented on the swift completion of the first
shipment, stating, "First shipment to Jeddah is done. That was quick,
wouldn't you say?" The partnership enables greater capacity and frequency
for deliveries to major cities such as Jeddah, Auckland, and Sydney.
During a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur on May 13, 2024,
Chareonwongsak emphasized the need for a consolidated network of airlines to
optimize routes both in the air and on the ground, enhancing operational
efficiency and sustainability. Teleport's latest LinkedIn post expressed
excitement about expanding its network to better serve customers across the
region.

Jan Philipp Pöter, Teleport's Chief Business Officer, hinted at
future expansion plans, stating, "Southeast Asia is our home; it's where
we started. However, Teleport operates beyond Southeast Asia. Our next step is
to expand across Asia as a whole. We already have a strong presence in India,
China, Japan, and Korea, and we've also formed partnerships with airlines in
the Middle East."
Looking ahead, Teleport plans to deliver two million parcels daily
across Southeast Asia and acquire seven more freighters for its fleet by 2025.
