Menzies International opens new branches in Pakistan
Air
Menzies International (AMI), a leading air freight wholesaler, has announced to
open two new branches in Lahore and Karachi cities of Pakistan as part of its
global expansion.
The
new openings mark the 25thand 26th locations of AMI globally. These will offer
AMI direct access to two of Pakistan’s high growth industrial centers. The
Karachi branch is close to Jinnah International Airport, which has been the
busiest airport in Pakistan. An automotive manufacturing hub, Karachi is a
major contributor to the economic activities of Pakistan, generating around 20
percent of the country’s total GDP. The new Lahore branch is located near
Allama Iqbal International Airport. Lahore is considered the technology and engineering
hub of Pakistan, hosting the operations of global technology giants.
The
expansion increases AMI’s presence in South Asia and is part of the company’s
wider strategy to focus on the Asian market.
The
branches will be led by Nadeem Ahmed, country manager, who has had an extensive
career in the freight forwarding industry in Pakistan.
Jonathon
Clark, CEO, Air Menzies International, said: “We are excited to be entering the
Pakistan market, as part of our strategy to establish a greater presence in the
South Asian region. We have chosen two cities with huge potential and healthy
projected economic growth of at least 5 percent over the next few years in both
Karachi and Lahore.”
