The assessment team from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has finalized its evaluation of Pakistan's aviation security systems.
At the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) headquarters in Lahore, a briefing was held where the team of four members presented an overview of their comprehensive audit of Pakistan's aviation security infrastructure. Oscar Rubio Annibal, the spokesperson for CAA, mentioned that the team leader commended the director general of CAA for the notable enhancements, particularly in light of the recent enactment of the CAA Act 2023.

It was noted that CAA not only met the new 2023 ICAO
standards but also made substantial progress towards the ICAO objectives set
for 2030.
The audit primarily focused on assessing the CAA Aviation Security Directorate over a five-day period.
Following this, the team spent four days evaluating security protocols at Jinnah International Airport, including examination of the airport facilities, the Airport Security Force (ASF), domestic and international airlines, cargo and ground handling companies, as well as catering services.

Additionally, the audit team visited the passport office and engaged with immigration staff from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), expressing satisfaction with the procedures observed. This comprehensive security audit marks the first full-scale on-site evaluation since the partial audit conducted in 2019.
