Section 144 extended to protect PAF base in Peshawar
The home and tribal affairs department has decided to extend the enforcement of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) for an additional six months in the vicinity of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base and its camp in the Badhber area of Peshawar.
This extension prohibits firing in the air, flying of drones, and the use of high beam laser lights in these areas.

Originally imposed by the Peshawar deputy commissioner on October 31, 2022, the Section 144 regulation expired on February 2. However, recognizing the importance of this measure for public safety, the deputy commissioner requested an extension.
In response to this request, the additional chief secretary of the home and tribal affairs department, Mohammad Abid Majeed, has issued a notification extending the ban for another six months. The notification emphasizes that anyone found violating this order will face legal consequences under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860.

The directive takes immediate effect and will remain in force for the specified duration unless modified or withdrawn earlier. Additionally, the home department has also prohibited the sale of pigeons and kite flying in the vicinity of the PAF base as part of these measures.
