Sukkur Airport to undergo major transformation 

Sukkur Airport is set to undergo a major transformation, as discussed in a recent high-level virtual meeting led by Additional DGCAA (AVM) Timur Iqbal.

Attended by key officials from various departments, including Deputy  DGCAA Regulatory and Deputy Director General Airports, the meeting focused on advancing the airport's expansion plans through collaborative efforts.

The expansion of Sukkur Airport is deemed essential for enhancing regional connectivity, as stressed during the discussions. With the Sindh government pledging necessary land, the project is poised to move swiftly from planning to implementation, as highlighted by DGCAA.

The planned enhancements include the construction of a modern terminal building and the extension of the runway to accommodate larger aircraft like the Boeing 777. This strategic endeavor aims to enhance the airport's capacity and facilitate smoother air travel for passengers.

Significantly, the expansion project has garnered approval from the Civil Aviation Authority Board and has been forwarded to the Civil Aviation Division for further necessary actions, marking substantial progress in realizing this critical infrastructure upgrade.

During deliberations, a range of concerns, from passenger grievances to inquiries about airport facilities, were comprehensively addressed. DGCAA issued directives for the swift resolution of issues, urging relevant authorities to provide full support and assistance to passengers.

Moreover, proactive measures have been initiated to investigate specific complaints, with passengers encouraged to provide detailed information for expedited resolution. This proactive stance underscores the commitment to ensuring a seamless and satisfactory travel experience for all stakeholders.
