Islamabad Airport handled 31,000 flights in 2023
Islamabad witnessed a remarkable surge in the number of passengers
utilizing Islamabad International Airport in 2023, setting a record for the
highest passenger volume since the airport became operational. According to the
spokesperson of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) on Tuesday, over
six million passengers arrived at or departed from Islamabad International
Airport on domestic and international flights.
This notable increase was observed across a total of 31,000
flights in the past year, with more than 1.5 million passengers recorded on
11,000 inbound or outbound domestic flights. Additionally, over 4.5 million
passengers were accounted for on 20,000 international flights within the same
period.
