Pakistan's Ministry of Aviation website sees rise in cyber attacks

Pakistan's Ministry of Aviation website fell victim to two recent cyber attacks, resulting in the posting of a message in a foreign language on the homepage.

The website, aviation.gov.pk, was promptly shut down, and though it was initially restored by IT experts, it succumbed to another attack within a few hours.

Despite the Ministry officials' efforts to revive and secure the website, it remains inaccessible as of the time of reporting. The repeated cyber assaults have erased past records from the aviation portal, underscoring the severity of the attacks.

This incident adds to a series of cyber attacks on various state-run portals, with instances including breaches of the Supreme Court and Foreign Ministry websites earlier in the year. The ongoing challenges highlight the need for robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard critical government platforms from such threats.
