More debris found of Pakistan's missing plane

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Friday announced that additional wreckage and debris from the crashed K2 Airways cargo aircraft have been located and recovered for further examination by the official investigation team.

In a statement, the PAA confirmed that search and rescue (SAR) operations, led by the Pakistan Navy (PN) and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), remain underway in the Arabian Sea.

"The search for the crew members is continuing with full vigour through the coordinated employment of aerial and sea-borne assets," the authority said.

The Pakistan-registered Boeing 737 cargo aircraft, operated by K2 Airways, disappeared from radar on Tuesday night while en route from Sharjah to Karachi with five crew members on board.

According to the PAA, the 27-year-old aircraft reported a navigational system malfunction at 9:18 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time (1618 GMT) before losing contact with air traffic control. The aircraft subsequently went missing over the Arabian Sea near Ormara, Balochistan.

On Wednesday, aviation authorities confirmed that the first pieces of wreckage had been recovered approximately 53 nautical miles south of Ormara, prompting an expanded search operation.

Recovery efforts and the investigation into the cause of the accident remain ongoing as authorities continue their search for the missing crew.
