AeroFusion 2026 hackathon to focus on emerging technology domains
The Ministry of
IT and Telecom is set to launch AeroFusion 2026, a national-level hackathon
aimed at bringing together Pakistan’s top talent in aerospace, aviation, and
emerging technologies to address real-world industry challenges.
The event will be organized by the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies
(NICAT) and is expected to attract students, researchers, innovators, and
industry professionals from across the country.
Funded by the Ministry of IT & Telecom
through the Ignite National Technology Fund, the initiative is being conducted
in collaboration with several key organizations, including NETSOL Technologies, National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, Air University, and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.

According to organizers, AeroFusion 2026 is
designed to go beyond a conventional hackathon by creating a high-intensity
innovation environment where participants will build, test, refine, and
challenge ideas in real time. Teams will work in a live development setting
while receiving ongoing mentorship and technical feedback from experts.
Participants will collaborate to solve
industry-focused problems through a structured innovation process that will
begin with problem analysis and conclude with the presentation of fully
developed solutions before an expert evaluation panel.
The hackathon will focus on emerging
technology domains such as autonomous systems, AI-driven simulations, advanced
materials, environmental intelligence, and secure communication systems.
Organizers say these areas align closely with the evolving demands of
Pakistan’s aerospace sector.
Participants will also have the opportunity to
work with technologies including robotics, artificial intelligence, Internet of
Things (IoT), and drone systems. Each focus area will feature dedicated problem
statements, with challenges ranging from autonomous robotic maintenance systems
to counter-drone solutions aimed at enhancing airspace security.
Teams demonstrating strong performance during
the competition may progress into NICAT’s evaluation pipeline, potentially
securing incubation opportunities and continued support for their projects.
Selected participants could receive mentorship, technical assistance, and
access to resources from NICAT and its partner organizations.

Top-performing teams will also be awarded
recognition and certification from NICAT, along with networking opportunities
with experts and institutions involved in Pakistan’s aerospace and defense
ecosystem.
Applications
for AeroFusion 2026 will remain open until May 19, 2026. Organizers say the
initiative offers innovators a platform to gain practical experience, tackle
industry challenges, and build long-term connections within Pakistan’s growing
aerospace innovation landscape.
