Turbat Airport holds emergency drill to test safety procedures

Safety drill held at Turbat Airport to test the systems 

Turbat International Airport carried out a comprehensive emergency exercise in accordance with international aviation standards and national safety protocols, officials said on Thursday.

The drill was designed to assess the effectiveness of the airport’s Crisis and Emergency Response Plan, with particular focus on communication, command structure, coordination, and response time.

Representatives from the Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army, Airport Security Force, and local district administration observed the exercise. Airport Manager Muhammad Ilyas Barrech conducted the briefing and debriefing sessions, followed by a live demonstration of an airside emergency response.

Authorities noted that multiple agencies, including rescue and fire services, actively participated in the drill. The exercise helped validate existing response systems, ensure quick access to the airfield, and identify minor gaps, ultimately enhancing operational preparedness and aviation safety at the airport.
