PIA moving offices to Islamabad as part of administrative restructuring
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to shift parts of its Finance and Supply Chain departments to Islamabad as part of an administrative restructuring move.
In the initial phase, around 20 officials from the Finance Department,
including the General Manager, have been transferred to the capital. Additionally,
six officers from the Supply Chain Department—also including the General
Manager—are being relocated from Karachi to Islamabad.
All concerned employees have been directed to
report to their new postings by May 2.
Sources said that General Manager-level officers will receive a relocation allowance of up to Rs150,000, while officers in Groups 7 and 8 will be granted a shifting allowance of Rs100,000.

Separately, earlier this month, PIA
successfully conducted a test flight of its previously grounded Boeing 777
aircraft, which had remained out of service since May 2025 due to a shortage of
essential spare parts.
Following the successful test, the
aircraft—registered as AP-BGZ—has been cleared to rejoin the fleet, providing a
boost to the airline’s long-haul operations and increasing capacity on
international routes.
The addition is expected to improve flight
scheduling and help meet rising passenger demand.
In another development, PIA resumed its London operations on March 29, 2026, after a suspension of six years, marking a significant step in restoring its international network.
