Pakistan seeks expanded air links with UAE
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, emphasized
the need to enhance flight connections between Al Ain and key Pakistani cities,
particularly Peshawar.
He made these remarks during a discussion with Elena Sorlini, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, at Al Ain Airport.
The event
also marked the inauguration of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) service
from Al Ain to Turbat, Baluchistan.

"With the launch of PIA flights from Al Ain to Turbat, we see
significant opportunities for further collaboration. Currently, PIA operates
three weekly flights from Al Ain to Pakistan (two to Islamabad and one to
Turbat). There is a pressing need to increase flight frequencies and include
more destinations, especially Peshawar and other major urban centers,"
stated Ambassador Tirmizi.
Highlighting Pakistan's strategic position as a bridge between
South Asia and the Middle East, the ambassador pointed out the vast potential
for tourism, particularly for Emiratis and other UAE residents. "We are
committed to expanding flight connectivity from Al Ain to various Pakistani
cities and appreciate the CEO’s supportive stance in this endeavor," added
Tirmizi.

CEO Elena Sorlini expressed her full support for enhancing flight operations between Al Ain and Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Sultan Al
Dhaheri, Senior Vice President of Government Relations; Sharifa Al Kathiri,
Head of Retail Services; and Mahwish Khan, Senior Manager of Aviation
Development from Abu Dhabi Airports. Additionally, Tariq Gulzar, Area Manager
of PIA, and other senior officials from both sides were present.
