Karachi Airport runway reconstructed to accommodate bigger planes
Secretary of Defence Lieutenant General (retd)
Muhammad Ali on Saturday inaugurated the newly reconstructed main runway
07L/25R at Jinnah International Airport,
according to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Airports Authority.
Additional Secretary of Defence Major General Qaiser Suleman was also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Senior officials attending the event included
PAA Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, Director General of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Nadir Shafi
Dar, Deputy DG (Works and Development) Sameer Saeed, Project Director Hafiz
Zahid Ishaq, Director Planning and Development, Airport Manager Adnan Khan,
along with other officials.
The newly completed Code 4F runway is capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft, including the Airbus A380. The project was completed within 18 months in compliance with Annex 14 standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization, without delays, cost overruns, claims, or accidents.

Addressing the ceremony, the defence secretary
said the project demonstrates Pakistan’s professional capacity, discipline, and
ability to deliver infrastructure aligned with international benchmarks. He commended
the leadership of the PAA, engineers, experts, and project teams, noting that
the timely and cost-effective completion of a world-class facility is a source
of national pride.
Commemorative shields were presented to the secretary of defence and the additional secretary during the event. Special honorary shields were also awarded to the PAA director general, CAA director general Nadir Shafi Dar, and other officials in recognition of their services.
