Air Chiefs of Pakistan and Iraq discuss cooperation between their air forces
Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, during
his official visit to Iraq, called on the Commander of the Iraqi Air Force,
Lieutenant General Staff Pilot Mohanad Ghalib Mohammed Radi Al-Asadi.
The two sides held detailed discussions on
strengthening bilateral military cooperation, with a particular focus on joint
training programmes, capacity building, and enhanced operational coordination.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force’s commitment to
supporting the Iraqi Air Force in training and human resource development.

Both air force chiefs agreed to explore
opportunities for joint exercises and specialised training initiatives aimed at
improving interoperability between the two forces.
The Iraqi Air Chief commended the Pakistan Air
Force for its professionalism, operational excellence, and technological
progress. He expressed strong interest in benefiting from PAF’s internationally
recognised training standards and showed keen interest in Pakistan’s JF-17
Thunder fighter aircraft and Super Mushshak trainer aircraft. He also
acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional
stability.
