Uzbekistan Airways increases flight frequency to Pakistan to boost connectivity
Uzbekistan Airways has announced the
expansion of its flight operations to Pakistan, doubling its weekly services to
enhance travel links and promote greater connectivity between Central and South
Asia.
According to the Uzbekistan Embassy in
Islamabad, the move significantly reduces travel time between the two
capitals — with direct flights now taking just two hours and eliminating the
need for layovers in Dubai.
The national carrier now operates a
total of four weekly flights between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, up from two. The Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent
route will run twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while the Tashkent–Lahore–Tashkent
service will operate Wednesdays and Fridays.

Airways’ inaugural direct flight receives warm welcome in Islamabad
Officials noted that the expansion was driven by strong passenger demand, as earlier Islamabad flights frequently operated at full capacity, with tickets selling out days in advance.
The airline emphasized that all flights are conducted using modern Airbus aircraft, offering passengers a comfortable experience and maintaining world-class safety standards. One-way fares start at around $200, while round-trip tickets are available from $400, making the route one of the most affordable and time-efficient options for business and leisure travelers.
Positioned at the crossroads of
Europe and Asia, Tashkent International Airport serves as a major transit hub
connecting travelers to over 50 international destinations, including Istanbul,
Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Dubai, Tokyo, and Seoul.

The embassy highlighted that the enhanced connectivity underscores Uzbekistan Airways’ role as a strategic bridge between Central and South Asia, facilitating tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
Beyond its practical benefits, the
initiative also reinforces the centuries-old cultural and spiritual ties
between Pakistan and Uzbekistan — rooted in their shared heritage of the Silk
Road and Islamic civilization.
For Pakistani travelers, the
expanded flights offer easy access to Uzbekistan’s iconic Silk Road cities — Samarkand,
Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand — while growing numbers of Uzbek tourists are
showing interest in exploring Pakistan’s diverse landscapes, rich history, and
renowned hospitality.
