Dubai to start flying taxi service in 2026
Dubai’s ambitious flying taxi
project has achieved a major milestone with the successful completion of its
first test flight, paving the way for public use in 2026.
Conducted in partnership with
U.S.-based aerospace company Joby
Aviation, the test flight covered the route from Al Margham to Dubai
World Central (Al Maktoum Airport), showcasing the emirate’s readiness to
bring air mobility into its transport network.

The achievement comes just days ahead of the Dubai Airshow 2025, underscoring the city’s growing role as a global hub for futuristic transportation. During a briefing, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) updated Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, on the project’s progress and next steps toward public rollout.
