Reports surface of another PIA staffer disappearing in Canada
Another Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) crew
member has allegedly gone missing during an overseas layover, this time
involving a senior flight attendant who disappeared in Canada.
According to the airline, the case
is under investigation and disciplinary action will be taken if the
disappearance is found to be unlawful.
PIA officials said senior flight
attendant Asif Najam operated a Lahore–Toronto flight on November 16 and was
due to return on November 19. He failed to report for the outbound flight and
has not been seen since.

The airline spokesperson said Najam vanished from the crew hotel sometime between November 16 and 19. When contacted, he reportedly claimed he was unwell, though PIA has not received any official medical documentation to verify his condition.
The spokesperson confirmed that an
internal inquiry is underway. “If it is established that the crew member disappeared
illegally, strict departmental action will follow,” the official said.
The incident adds to a string of
similar cases in recent years, in which PIA crew members have slipped away
during foreign layovers, raising concerns about monitoring and accountability
within the national carrier.
