Air’s operating licence suspended over safety non-compliance and fleet shortage
Hundreds of passengers who had already purchased Serene Air tickets were left stranded after the CAA suspended the airline’s operations earlier this month, citing safety and maintenance concerns. On October 5, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) revoked Serene Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) after determining that none of its aircraft were airworthy.
The suspension will remain in force
until the airline restores its fleet and meets all regulatory requirements for
reinstatement. The CAA has also directed Serene Air to return its operational
certificates for review and endorsement.
