Air Punjab to be launch in 2026 at
a cost of Rs. 12 to Rs. 15 billion
The working committee overseeing the
launch of Air Punjab has submitted its preliminary report to the provincial
government, outlining the airline’s financial framework, operational strategy,
and rollout schedule.
According to the report, the project’s
estimated cost stands between Rs. 12 billion and Rs. 15 billion, with plans to lease
five Airbus A320 aircraft. Each jet will cost approximately $375,000 per month,
translating to an annual leasing expense of about Rs. 6.3 billion.

In its first operational phase, Air
Punjab intends to launch direct flights from Lahore to Dubai, Jeddah, and
Karachi. The anticipated fares are Rs. 15,000 for domestic routes, Rs. 40,000
for Dubai, and Rs. 50,000 for Jeddah.
The airline will function under a public-private
partnership model, designed to ensure financial sustainability and efficient
management. The initiative is expected to generate thousands of jobs and encourage
private-sector investment in Punjab’s aviation industry.

As per the committee’s roadmap, Air
Punjab is expected to take off by September next year, marking a major
