Passenger accuses his $850,000 cryptocurrency stolen at Karachi Airport
The Pakistan
Airports Authority (PAA) has denied reports of an alleged $850,000
cryptocurrency theft at Karachi’s
Jinnah International Airport, following a detailed investigation conducted
jointly with the Airport Security Force (ASF)
and local police.
The complaint, filed by an
individual identified as Mr. Faizyab, claimed that four uniformed men escorted
him to a separate room inside the airport, confiscated his phone, accessed his
passwords, and transferred cryptocurrency valued at USD 850,000 from his
digital wallets.

However, after reviewing CCTV footage, passenger records, and security logs, investigators found no evidence to support the allegations. Authorities confirmed that no such incident was recorded on surveillance cameras and that the complainant did not report the theft to ASF or airport officials at the time.
Further investigation revealed that
the individual had been marked as a “no-show” for his scheduled flight to
Peshawar. A police report submitted to the court also verified that no theft
occurred within the airport premises.
