Emirates Airlines to accept payments in crypto currencies
In a landmark move toward financial innovation, Emirates Airlines has signed
a strategic partnership with Crypto.com, enabling customers to pay for flights
and services using cryptocurrencies starting in 2026. This positions Emirates
among the first major international airlines to adopt crypto payments at scale.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
signed on July 9, outlining plans to integrate Crypto.com Pay into Emirates’
global payment ecosystem. Once fully implemented, passengers will be able to
use digital currencies to purchase tickets and other travel-related services.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said
the initiative aligns with Dubai’s ambition to lead in the digital economy and
appeals to a new generation of travelers.

“This strategic move supports Dubai’s vision for financial innovation and offers our customers more flexible and modern payment options,” Kazim stated.
Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, emphasized the importance of
real-world use cases for cryptocurrency.
“Partnering with a globally recognized airline like Emirates brings us
closer to mainstream adoption of digital assets,” Anziani said.

Mainstream Crypto Adoption
The partnership will also include joint
marketing campaigns aimed at raising awareness and encouraging
customers to embrace the new payment method. Emirates’ entry into the crypto
space mirrors a broader trend in the UAE, where sectors such as real estate and
telecommunications have already begun accepting digital currencies.
Still in its early stages, the integration underscores Emirates’ commitment
to innovation and strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a global crypto hub.
