In honor of its origins, Emirates adopted the call sign "EK," using the "E" from Emirates and the "K" from Karachi. This call sign, still in use today, serves as a tribute to the airline's beginnings and the crucial role Karachi and PIA played in its early development.

Though Emirates is now recognized as one of the leading airlines globally, its roots in Karachi and the partnership with PIA remain an integral part of its history.
