Pakistani women team oversees full operation of ground handling of a flight
In a groundbreaking achievement for Pakistan’s
aviation industry, an all-women team successfully managed the ground operations
of an international flight at Karachi Airport for the first time, according to
local reports.
The women-led team oversaw every aspect of the

the lounge.
This marks a significant step forward for women in a field historically dominated by men, showcasing their skills and capabilities in aviation.

The private company providing ground handling
services to airlines praised this achievement as a shift in Pakistan’s
workforce landscape, noting that this was more than just a routine operation.
The team’s responsibilities extended beyond the
ground operations, including issuing boarding passes to departing passengers,
loading luggage onto the aircraft, refueling, and preparing the plane for its
next flight.
One of the most technically challenging tasks—using a tug master to push back the large aircraft from the apron to the taxiway—was also expertly handled by a female operator.
