NA Panel requests Prime Minister to change the name of Islamabad Airport to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Airport
Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed Khan Babar, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Aviation, has formally asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to implement a 2022 National Assembly resolution to rename Islamabad International Airport as Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
In a letter addressed to the Prime
Minister, Nawabzada Iftikhar emphasized the symbolic significance of the
resolution, which was passed on October 13, 2022, as a tribute to the enduring
legacy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. Despite its passage over two years ago, the
resolution has yet to be acted upon, causing frustration among citizens and
elected officials.

influence," the letter states.
