Islamabad Airport upgrades narrow-body aircraft facility
The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) announced on Saturday that
Islamabad International Airport has generated an additional Rs136 million in
revenue following the upgradation of its narrow-body aircraft facility.
According to the PAA, the project has also enhanced the passenger
experience at the airport.
At present, the airport features six narrow-body aircraft bridges,
alongside one newly installed wide-body bridge. As part of the first phase of
expansion, three additional wide-body bridges will be converted to accommodate

The airport also plans to convert five more wide-body bridges for
narrow-body use, bringing the total to eight. This strategic initiative is
designed to meet the growing demand for narrow-body aircraft operations while
making optimal use of existing infrastructure.
The PAA highlighted that the successful completion of this project
will not only enhance aircraft turnaround times but also support environmental
sustainability by reducing carbon emissions.
In the first phase of the upgrade, three wide-body bridges were
successfully adapted for use with narrow-body aircraft.
The PAA further stated that five additional bridges are set to be
operational soon, bringing the total to eight wide-body bridges available for
narrow-body aircraft operations.
