E-Protector stamp facility launched online to facilitate travelers
Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi
has taken steps to address the long-standing issue of affixing e-protector
stamps on the passports of Pakistanis traveling abroad for employment or higher
education. As a result, the Bureau of Immigration has launched an online
e-protector facility, which is also accessible at airports.
It is mandatory for individuals
traveling to the Middle East or other regions for employment to have the
protector stamp affixed to their passports. Without this stamp, travelers risk
being denied boarding, leading to lost employment opportunities and wasted
ticket costs.

To ease this process, the Federal
Ombudsman has directed that the online e-protector stamp facility be available
at all international airports in the country around the clock. This service
allows travelers who may have forgotten to obtain the protector stamp to do so
before their departure. So far this year, 14,339 Pakistanis have utilized this
facility.
