Iraq to get 12 more Super Mushshak aircraft from Pakistan 

Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, convened with a delegation from the Iraqi Air Force, led by Lieutenant General (Special Forces) Ahmed Dawood Salman, General Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Iraq, and Lieutenant General (Pilot) Shehab Jahid Ali, Commander of the Iraqi Air Force.

The meeting solidified the commitment to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq, with a primary focus on advancing training and capabilities within the aviation sector.

The Iraqi delegation commended the innovative initiatives and efforts toward indigenization undertaken by the Pakistan Air Force under its current leadership. They also praised the professionalism of the PAF and acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace.

During the discussions, the Chief of the Air Staff reaffirmed the PAF's steadfast support in enhancing the capacity of the Iraqi Air Force, offering comprehensive training programs ranging from foundational to tactical levels for Iraqi pilots.

Assurances were given regarding ongoing training and technical assistance from the PAF to meet the air power requirements of the Iraqi Air Force. Plans were outlined for training Iraqi aircrew at esteemed institutions such as the Flying Instructors School and the College of Air Defence.

Highlighting recent achievements, the Air Chief mentioned the delivery of 12 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft to the Iraqi Air Force, with arrangements in place for the forthcoming delivery of an additional 12 aircraft.

Both parties expressed interest in exploring further areas of collaboration, including potential involvement in the JF-17 program, with plans for a high-level delegation from Iraq to visit Pakistan in the near future.
