Multiple Pakistan airports are set to see new Chief Operating Officers (COOs), according to reports by ARY News.

This suggests a potential restructuring within the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), following the appointment of an Acting Director General (DG).

In addition to the rotation of COOs at various airports nationwide, there are indications of forthcoming appointments and transfers of senior officers within the CAA headquarters in Karachi.

These developments coincide with the recent transfer of Khaqan Murtaza, the former DGCAA, to the chairmanship of the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) by the federal government.

The aviation sector in Pakistan is bracing for leadership and organizational changes within the Civil Aviation Authority amidst this transition.

Last week, Khaqan Murtaza's transfer from DG of the CAA was officially notified by the federal government, with Saif Anjum, the Secretary of Aviation, assuming additional responsibilities as the Acting DGCAA. Murtaza's appointment had occurred during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
