Karachi Airport runway goes under maintenance
In a bid to enhance passenger safety, the Civil Aviation Authority
(CAA) has launched a month-long maintenance program at Karachi's Jinnah
International Airport. The primary runway will be temporarily closed to address
the buildup of rubber debris from aircraft tires, ensuring a safer and more
efficient travel experience for passengers.

Airport set to receive upgraded international standard runways
The maintenance activities, initiated on April 4 and slated to
continue until May 3, have been strategically scheduled during specific hours
on weekdays, from Monday to Friday. This approach allows the CAA to tackle
safety concerns while minimizing disruption to flight operations.
Here's the runway closure schedule:
Mondays: 9 am to 11:30 am
Tuesdays: 8 am to 12:30 pm
Wednesdays: 9 am to 12:30 pm
Thursdays: 7:30 am to 10 am
Fridays: 9 am to 11:30 am
Weekends will be maintenance-free, with no scheduled work on
Saturdays and Sundays.
Despite the temporary closure of the main runway, flight
operations will proceed as usual. Flights will be rerouted to the secondary
runway, ensuring seamless travel schedules for passengers. This initiative
underscores the CAA's unwavering dedication to passenger safety and operational
efficiency.
