Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) hopes flights to UK will resume  

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) is preparing for the resumption of flights to UK and is in the process of drafting a drone policy.

This was stated by Additional Director General AVM Taimoor Iqbal while chairing the 43rd E-Kachehri of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

The session commenced with a review of previous complaints, focusing on passengers’ rights concerning flight cancellations.

Emphasizing the importance of detailed explanations from airlines for cancellations or delays, beyond generic reasons like 'technical issues', the Additional Director General stressed the need for accountability.

The Director of Air Transport highlighted the preparation of a document to ensure airlines' accountability in such cases, particularly mentioning PIA flights to the UK and expressing hopes for an update in May following inspections.

Acknowledging complaints against Serene Air and PIA, follow-up actions were assured. The issue of FIA staffing at immigration counters was addressed, with plans for further discussion and resolution.

Regarding queries about drones, it was informed that a comprehensive policy document covering various aspects was in preparation and would be available on the PCAA website. Clarifications were provided regarding procedures for accountability in investigations, including the PK 8303 crash report.

The Additional Director General issued instructions to improve signage at Quetta International Airport and ensure adequate provision of luggage trolleys at airports to address infrastructure concerns.

The lack of flight operations from Dera Ghazi Khan to Dubai was attributed to economic viability issues.

The session concluded with gratitude to participants for their contributions, reaffirming the commitment to address passenger complaints and enhance their overall experience.
