Government committed to PIA privatization: Aviation Minister 

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Minister for Aviation, has affirmed the government's commitment to enhancing the country's aviation industry to bolster its role in national economic development.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad, discussions centered on the National Aviation Policy 2023, challenges confronting the Pakistani aviation sector, and air service agreements with other nations.

 

PIA privatization encounters obstacles as ministries clash over debt transfer



The minister underscored that the government's top priority is the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Additionally, during the session, the minister received briefings on various entities falling under the ministry's purview, including PIA, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, Pakistan Airport Authority, Bureau of Air Safety Investigation, Airport Security Forces, and Pakistan Meteorological Department.
